I tried to update my files today, but every time I download and try to extract them from the zipped folder, it says there are no files to extract.

Sorry about that, we were updating files today. We're finished, so try again now and you should be good to go!

I tried to download them again, as well as the Product Images. Neither one of them worked. I downloaded the symbols to see if it was something with my computer and they downloaded correctly.

Wierd. I just tried downloading 5.4 and it went fine for me. Can you tell me a little more info? does it not start downloading at all, does it cut out halfway through, or maybe it gives you a corrupt file error of some kind?

I noticed this issue when trying to download a larger file but just reproduced it trying to download the laser files... the download session seems to be getting dropped or something mid download with the result being a partially downloaded file. In my version of Firefox (3.6.12) it's completing the download as though it thinks it finished even though the file size is not as high as it should be (in this case it only got to about 15MB). There seems to be something weird going on with downloading files from laserengravings.info.

I'm not sure if this will be useful for your troubleshooting or not but here's the output from a command line download attempt:

wget http://www.laserengravings.info/LaserFiles/5.4%20laser%20files.zip

As you can see the download is failing part way through with no user intervention with a "Connection closed" report.

Brian,

Would you mind trying this command out?
wget ftp://www.laserengravings.info/5.4%20laser%20files.zip

FTP ought to be more reliable for large files like this...

That's very odd, because that exact command works perfectly for me.
At any rate, I renamed the file to "5.4laserfiles.zip" so, see if that works better for you.

Sorry, I deleted my post because I sort of got it to work with spaces but it was really odd... anyway, it's working all the time for me now without the spaces.

The http link also seems to be working fine today so perhaps there were just some weird issues yesterday somewhere in between us that were causing the issues...

So... is ftp://www.laserengravings.info/5.4laserfiles.zip a safe bet for where the files will be available in the future? I'm thinking I need to update my script which automatically downloads the files and want to ensure I have the correct updated link.

Yep, that is correct.
